
On December 21, 2024, the Student Innovation and Technology Virtual Conference – Online Interim Sharing was successfully held via Zoom. This event was part of the PolyU Fun-Tech Competition 2024, a platform aimed at empowering students to explore their creative potential through innovative technology.
The conference brought together 42 teams from 21 secondary schools, featuring an impressive lineup of young innovators who showcased their preliminary ideas for two exciting competitions: the VR Video Creation Competition and the Creative RFID Competition.
Dr. Rodney Chu, Project Leader of the PolyU Fun-Tech Competition 2024 and Senior Lecturer in the Department of Applied Social Sciences at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, opened the event with an inspiring speech, highlighting the progress of the competition and encouraging participants to embrace creativity and collaboration.
Throughout the day, the students presented their initial concepts and progress to a panel of judges, including Dr. Rodney Chu and Mr. Charles Woo, VR & RFID Trainer and Project Fellow at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. The judges provided constructive feedback to guide the teams in refining their projects. Their expert insights were instrumental in helping students identify areas for improvement and expand their ideas further.to their projects.
